OMITIDAS (Omitted)
This is a 14-page booklet about obstetric fistula in Mozambique, in Portuguese, co-produced by Women in Law (WLSA) and UNFPA.
I conceptualized and wrote the booklet, worked closely with the graphic designer and the photographer. I also took many of the photos.
For the Omitidas media package I produced two short videos that illustrate the journeys of young women with obstetric fistula before and after undergoing surgery.
I enjoy repackaging annual reports and studies into attractive booklets for the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in East and Southern Africa.
The booklets illuminate issues of child marriage, contraceptives, HIV prevention and treatment, young people’s health-seeking behaviour, youth-friendly health services, gender-based violence and many other topics of sexual and reproductive health.
Prioritizing these issues is crucial not only for young people’s well-being but also as a strategic investment in Africa’s socioeconomic development and sustainability.
